Prayer is recognizing (affirming Christ's presence), cultivating awareness of (meditating, reflecting, living with scripture, corporate worship), and giving expression (reflecting his life within us in our daily living and living out of his presence so his Spirit will be expressed through us) to the indwelling Christ. By doing this, we will be Christ to and receive Christ from every person we meet.

In Ephesians, Paul writes that "through faith Christ may dwell in your hearts in love. With deep roots and firm foundations, may you be strong to grasp, with all God's people, what is the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ, and to know it, though it is beyond knowledge. So you may attain to fullness of being, the fullness of God himself."

How do you attain this "fullness"? In Ephesians 2, Paul tells us that "God brought us to life with Christ even when we were dead in our sins." He united us with Christ through the cross so we may be raised up and show the world the fullness of his grace and the depth of his kindness. "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to devote ourselves to the good deeds for which God has designed us."

Prayer is just one of the specifics acts that shapes our spirit and brings us closer to "the fullness of God," Christ in you! And bringing with him, the hope of all the glorious things to come.
