FSM Salutes the Warrior in Man
At the very heart of man is the desire to be on the field of contest - it may be a football field, a baseball field, or even the battlefield. It is standing shoulder to shoulder facing challenges where men relate. We sharpen one another not by the caress but by the clash of steal. The U.S. military produces the bravest, most disciplined, intellectually strong soldiers in the world.
There is not doubt that the United States is the world leader in warfare, yet we are also the meekest. Meekness is power under control. We could "annihilate" any enemy, on any day of our choosing. There has never been a power with the constraint that we have. There has never been a country that defeats its enemy only to rebuild it better than we found it. There has never been a victor who did not take the spoils of war. We are unusual in our motivation; instead of conquering a people to control, we liberate a people for freedom.
We salute you, sir, you are our hero. You are what we honor most at FivestarMan.
