Psalm 91 is probably my favorite Psalm. Underneath the title that says "Psalm 91", it says "Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord". And that captures the main point of this particular Psalm. It is all about how, if you are firmly planted in the Lord, you can withstand anything with and through Him. This is such an encouraging Psalm.

Sometimes, however, people use versions they cannot understand or do not grasp the intended ideas. This is when reaing your Bible gets boring. A way you can prevent such a thing from happening is by personalizing it a little (and by a little, I mean a little. Don't go make your own wacky, fake Bible because of this contribution, PLEASE!).
The way to make most verses cool, powerful, and meaningful, is to put yourself into the place of the person being spoken to or about.
Read Psalm 91:14-16 and replace "he" and "him" with your name. It really makes a difference in an ordinary-looking verse.

For me, it would say the following (in NASB).
"Because Christina has loved Me, therefore I will deliver her. I will set her securely on high, because she has known my name. She will call upon Me, and I will answer her; I will be with her in trouble; I will rescue her and honor her. With a long life I will satisfy her and let her see My salvation."

Isn't that so cool and encouraging?
