I often have trouble with the "non-works" based claims in the Bible. I should say that I have trouble with I should say I can't understand and need more research. For instance in these passages it states that god saved us by his mercy and because of that we are to do good. What does doing good have to do with anything. We are saved by our belief in Christ Jesus. If we are to believe that we cannot lose faith than what is the link. I believe the argument is that when you are truly saved and filled with the spirit you will want to do good. If that is true than what is the bother of teaching people to do good. Just wait until there saved right? The saved will want to to good and the unsaved will not. Just thinking out loud here.
