Do you know people who just love to debate? I do! I used to love to debate, but all that ended up happening was 2 people expanding alot of hot air. Here Paul tells Timothy not to engage in useless debates, but to simply present the gospel and let God handle the rest. Instead , he says, spend your time on training yourself in holiness. Training requires exercise, exercise in the Word.
