Acts 9:36 NLT

This one always bothered me. Why did Jesus only appear to a select few? Other accounts say he appeared to as many as 500... wouldn't it make more sense to appear to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands (or millions?) of people after rising from the dead? It would have made the resurrection a lot easier for people to accept if many more people witnessed Jesus resurrected.
