Numbers 14:24 and Romans 8:14

Life can grind you down into a routine of minutia if you let it. What's missing in a lot of men's lives is the spirit of Adventure. Within every man is an adventurous boy calling out to his dad, "Hey, dad, let's go out a play ball, rough it up, or explore." The adrenaline of youth seems to fade out as we get more comfortable. More responsibility requires us to assess the risks, to evaluate the costs, and to suppress those adventurous earnings.

Caleb was an adventurous man. When others were choosing comfort, Caleb said, "Come on we can do this!" Caleb was a different spirit. He wanted the fight. He embraced the challenge. Doing so actually saved his life.

People tend to have graveside focus. We are constantly looking at the fact that we will be buried one day. The real challenge is not in death but in life. Living a life that speaks of our confidence and faith that God is the Resurrection. We must know that He is calling us out into a passionate, fulfilling, and adventurous life.
