We'd better get busy at proving our faith
I love this verse because it challenges me to follow Christ's commands, which Christ himself says that if we love him we will follow his commands. I've always struggled with the idea of faith and works. What this verse teaches me is that if I truly believe, then my actions will prove my belief.
I know that I can not be perfect and that I can not earn my way in to God's mercy. But, that does not mean I get a free pass on my actions. If I say I believe in Jesus, then my actions will prove out my belief. I can not live with unforgiveness, for example, and also claim to believe in Jesus. The two do not mix.
Do something with my faith.
