Chained
One of Paul's greatest encouragements and challenges to the church in today is this...
Will you answer a higher calling?
Paul begins by revealing truth. "...What has happened to me has REALLY served to advance the gospel." (emphasis mine)
Throughout Paul's life there seems to be what people think is happening to Paul and what is REALLY happening to Paul. His explanation follows:
"...It has become clear...that I am in chains for Christ."
To others, it seems as though paul is restricted in movement and influence, but to Paul it is the opposite. It seems to Paul that the chains that hold him down are actually not chains, but exactly the opposite. To Paul they actually increase his movement and Influence.
For us:
Will we accept the challenge of the chains? Can we take what we think hinders us and use it to advance the Gospel? Will the chains that look like such a challenge to followers of Christ be turned upside down and actually be used to show the world who Christ really is?
