This verse is supplemental to Jesus saying, old wineskins cannot hold new wine and you reap what you sow. We often just plant and plant, especially when everyone's all excited about planting, or keep pouring in new wine in cracked and antiquated wine containers. We fail to see that planting with all the other trash around is useless, and pouring new wine into old wineskin ruins everything! Yes, Jesus said don't pull the weeds yet as the good plants might be damaged. But he also said any plant HIs Father has not planted will be pulled out by the roots.
