Imitate
“Imitate” means to copy or reproduce. In the world of advance electronic equipment, copying or reproducing by permission of the creator is very easily done. You program the machine to copy a detailed original and can have an almost exact replica.
I desire to be so faithful to copy/reproduce Christ in all I do and say. My intention is present but, at times, far to many to count, I fail — my flesh is often weak and unwilling. So in those times, I end looking like a copy of world.
Imitating Christ is the opposite of what the world does today. You could almost say, that in any given certain situation, do the opposite of what the world tells you and you will imitate Christ.
Look at Ephesians 5: 3-5 - Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people. 4 Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. 5 You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
Unbelievers need to see Christ in His followers how they act, speak and respond.
Dear Friend, may we be imitators of Christ today. May we pause and pray asking God for wisdom to respond in love, act with integrity, love with mercy. May we “Carefully determine what pleases the Lord”. Ephesians 5:10
