Proverbs 3:5-6 ASV and Matthew 6:34 ASV

Trust the Lord and lean not to your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct you path. this passage speaks volumes to a worrier like me.

i just can't seem to get past this idea that it's NOT all up to me. when i read this, it seems like the Lord is screaming "HEY YOU! You know, I AM GOD, not you. I'm the one who created everything including you and i know what the heck is going on. Eyes on me! pay attention and i will take you places.

In Matthew 6:34, Jesus tells us to focus on today because tomorrow will worry about itself. in our future focused society (i.e. college, career, family, etc.) it can be so hard for us to just stop and smell the coffee...(oh, glorious coffee) God tells us to be wise about tomorrow but you make a good tomorrow by having a good today. today's decisions effect tomorrow's situation. the bible also tells us that if we seek his kingdom above ALL, that he will add to us the things that we need free of charge and also that He wants to give us our heart's desire.

This can be a sketchy idea because the bible also says that the heart is decietful but if we are seeking Him fervently then our hearts will be made more like His and it won't be hard for Him to give us our desires because they will be His desires.
