Hollywood Pursuit
Who's popularity do I want? God's or the world's? If I'm living a holy life, the world will taunt me and certainly not celebrate me or my pursuit of Christ. But when I 'die', I will be a peace with Jesus and I will finally be able to rest. The world's entire lot in life is to rest and relax as much as possible. I'm here to work. I'm here to preach Christ and LIVE a holy life. There is no time to pursue relaxation - I pursue Jesus and He will provide for my every need, including rest.
When they taunt, I will only press on harder toward the prize. God will vindicate my pursuit of His righteousness. God will avenge their taunting and harassing ways.
The world is completely out of control - they sleep with anyone they please, they abort children for convenience, they worship sex and pursue it with everything they have, they worship the physical body and seek its perfection, and they run after any religion that will make them feel good, important, or popular. Those of the world have chosen their fate even if they do not admit to it. The world worships itself and has brought destruction upon itself. Those without Christ try everything they can to feel good, but are NEVER satisfied or truly happy.
"But anyone who runs to me for help will inherit the land, will end up owning my holy mountain!"
Jesus IS my pursuit. The fads and popularity of the world are impossible to follow and keep. I am an heir with Christ! Because of Jesus, I will share in the inheritance of a kingdom without end - a kingdom without dissatisfaction, concern, or endless wanting.
This is true freedom. I am free to live and enjoy my life and work on earth when I know that my life pleases my Father in heaven - nothing else matters. The opinions of the world hold nothing on me and provide me with nothing. Jesus is everything and I am consumed with Him and His opinion only.
