"And called their name Adam." Keyword, "their." I have always wondered who Cain was talking about when he was afraid that others would find him and "slay" him. Either he was speaking prophetically or he was speaking of other Adams so to speak...hmmmm? Adam translates to earth and man so...any thoughts? Finally as I went on to read the rest of chapter 5 I found it amazing how long the human lifespan was then! Sin has robbed us of our longevity, but the good news is that this proves the power of His word. God says that THE WAGES OF SIN ARE DEATH! Spiritually and physically. Example: you see someone who you grew up with, same age, same upbringing, but you run with different crowds. He lives a life of sin and you are more like Enoch in that you try your best daily to walk with God. Isn't it funny how when you see him years later you can barely recognize him? Although you look about the same with a few more wrinkles here and there? This is because his word reigns true. 930 years...that's how long Adam lived...and today we hope to see 25!?....Oh ye of little faith.
