Who am I?
What an amazing picture in interaction with God. David sits before God to have a heart to heart talk about how he feels about God having chosen him and his family not only to lead but also to establish his name and make it great forever. David’s question is one that I have asked many times in my life. Why choose or use me? Who am I? I look at what I do and do not have and am humbled before God who has given to me and equally taken things from me in my life. But as David said He is sovereign; He is in complete control and holds the world in His hands. And if this is true just as Matthew Henry said, He knows me better than I know me,” and sees something in me that I can’t and won’t. All I can do is what David has done and sit before God, be thankful and wonder why?
