"Woe to them!" - They are cursed. May they be cursed.
"For they walked in the way of Cain" - Jealousy overtook them.
"and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam's error" - He was at least considering the option of cursing the Israelites against the Lord's command for the sake of gaining riches.
"and perished in Korah's rebellion." - Korah, too, assumed his own holiness and refused to submit to the authorities that God had placed over him, Moses and Aaron.
