Jesus and Elisha
Jesus feeding the five thousand (5,000) reminds me of 2nd Kings 4:42-44 where Elisha, the man of God, took twenty barley loaves made from the first fruits and fresh grain in the ear and feed one hundred (100) men.
Like the Disciples of Christ in the New Testament, Elisha's servant did not have faith enough to believe that God could feed his people regardless of the circumstances and without the help of man.
Like Christ, who was testing Philip His servant and knew what He was going to do, Elisha, being a man of faith insisted his servant give the bread to the men to eat.
Like the Disciples fed the people, Elisha's servant set the bread before the men and the men ate it.
Like in the New Testament there were twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left over, in the Old Testament the men ate and had some left, according to the word of the Lord.
I love the Word of God.
