I love Peter's voice. You get a sense of the same exuberance, passion and confidence he attributed to his early years of discipleship. Bold, outspoken Peter, always quick to respond and blaze the way for Christ during their days of witnessing to tax collectors, healing the sick and performing miracles. No sign of a shaken man, who's fear caused him to go waist deep amidst the waves. No trace of shame, of a recognizable follower who doubted himself and denied his master not once, but three times. No, this is a different Peter, ready to claim what Christ always saw in him: a strong faith. His words reflect a spirit of resounding joy - one can't help but smile - and an attitude of hope that could only come from rubbing elbows with Hope itself. I love that voice, that excitement Peter gets sharing the promise of salvation in Christ's resurrection. It increases my faith.
