July and August have been such cruel months.
"Growing in prayer". There is strength in praying out God's promises, and standing secure in God's assurances. Jacob prays in v.9: "Then Jacob prayed, "O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, O LORD, who said to me, 'Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,'". I need to recount God's blessings in my life - and all the times He has sovereignly guided me. And I need to pray as Jacob did: praying out Scripture, praying out all the promises that I claim by faith. I know that God will provide, that God will open a door, that God will work in His divine timing, that He will neither leave nor forsake me! How? Because the Bible says so.
