Now that Jonah was undergoing punishment from the Lord, he realized his mistake and repented for it. So many times we do the same thing, we have to get into trouble before we wake up and see things God's way. It was stated similarly in Psalm 119:71 'it is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes'.

We humans always seem to take the wrong way and have to go through God's discipline before we shape up and do what He wants. I pray we all may grow closer to Him and have the wisdom to know His will and do it the first time.
