His grace
Paul was having to defend his authority as a leader, and didn't seem to be getting a break from anyone. Whatever was digging at him constantly was not going away, even as he prayed that he would have relief. God told Paul, "my grace is enough for you". I was going through a tough time once and like Paul, it seemed like I was catching it from all sides. I saw this verse a little differently for the first time, and it has helped me several times since then. The word "my" stood out. MY grace is sufficient. I was looking for grace from everyone around me, and it just wasn't there. HIS grace (no one else) is sufficient. We tend to feel our weakest when we feel the most alone. When no one else is there for you, He always is, armed with an endless supply of grace. Sometimes we have to be reminded of our limitations. When we are knocked down with no apparent means of getting up, and no help from others, if we haven't yet done it, we HAVE to look to Him for the way up...that's when we truly see Him at work.
