1 Kings 2:11 ASV

Today in our culture, we tend to look down on our youth as foolish and immature. However, when one looks at the life of King David, you see a man who at a very youing age accomplished great things:
Age 12: Annointed by Samual the Prophet to be King of Isreal (1Sam 16)
Age 14: Plays harp in the King's palace (1Sam 16:17)
Age 16: Defeats a 12 foot tall giant with a hand sling and a rock. (1Sam 17)
Age 21: Becomes the King's Armour Bearer (1Sam 16:21)
Age 25: Achieves a rank in battle to lead thousands of soldiers (1Sam 18:13).
Age 27: Marries the Kings Daughter (1Sam 18:)
Age 27-30: Lives in the desert commanding his army of Mighty Men for three years
Age 30 Becomes King of Judea and reigns for fourty years until his death at age 70

Consider Paul's admonition to Timothy in 1 Tim 4:12: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

We need to expect great things from our youth, to be like David - Men and Women after God's own heart, full of passon and not afraid to achieve great thinks for their saviour.
