Making Love Last | Tuesday
It's interesting to think about the "no reputation" concept. I mean much of your life is spent becoming educated and then working your way to the top in your field. All in the process of building your "reputation" which leads to better jobs, more money and in essence more security.
So what would it look like to be more concerned about others than that reputation?
In the case of Jesus, He threw away divinity in order to live like us in this broken world as a humble servant - even to the point of death on the cross.
And the eventual result is that God exalts Him above all. Not that we should be humble in order to be exalted. But when we fully commit to this life of servanthood and expect nothing, God steps in and showers us with blessings unseen. If not in this world, definitely in the next.
