Do we actually view our faith in this light? "Worthy of His calling." Or do we see God as worthy of us? Sadly, many (especially those of the Arminian tradition - no offense to Arminians, of course) see God as anxiously waiting on the edge of his seat, hoping against all hope that we will convert. And this is why the miracle of salvation, in so many circles, is really no miracle at all, if one were to evaluate it based on the reaction of witnesses. Do we see the Gospel as something we can merely put off? Are we arrogant enough to see ourselves as in total control of our own destiny, willing to "lower" ourselves to his glorious Gospel at the time of our own choosing? Too many tolerate a lack of urgency in these supreme matters of importance.
