People vs People
I'm a youth pastor in SC, and in my own little part of the world I see people against people all the time. There are various reasons for this. Here in the south a big one is still Black and White, but there are others like uper class middle class and lower class. In my youth group the Senior high can be against the Junior High. The whole youth group can be at odds with the new 7th graders.
To be honest all of these divisions break my heart; particularly when put in context of these verses. Because we are human beings, we are more alike than we are different because of what Christ has done for us. Even if your not a Christ follower you have to admit that you have something in comon with everyone. However far to often we focus on what makes us differnt than what we have in comon, and this is what causes so much of the tension in the world around us.
May we all begin to focus on the things that we have in common rather than what we do not. If we could look beyond these things we would be more unified like this passage talks about and we could accomplish far greater things than we could ever imagine.
