Paul starts out by establishing his place in Christ, the same as all of us, bondservants and saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

Paul is giving Titus guidelines and directions on setting up authority in the church.

Unfortunately, here on earth man has a hand in running the church and as we all know, man usually messes things up in regard to God's plans and ideas.

Paul wants Titus to have the proper type person in positions of authority so that the church will not fall in the ways of evil men, or people who profess to be Christians, but are more interested in being approved by men rather than following closely to the will of God.

Yet today, we still need leadership from men who are saved, and have made Jesus Lord of their life. People who are willing to do the will of the Father, even when it is not the popular thing to do. We need to follow God's plan and will, and not worry about the rich in the church and those who want things to go according to their own agenda.
