Its far too easy to say "it has always been this way" or "things will never change" - maybe the poor will always be with us. But should that stops us from showing God's love and gentleness, letting his compassion flood out of our lives? The fact that there will always be the poor should not be our excuse for inaction but our motivation to do more and show in words, prayer and action to help those loved dearly by the father.
