1 Corinthians 4:3-4 AMP

I love Paul's attitude here. First, he doesn't care or get hung up on what others think about him. Certainly he wants to represent Christ as best he can, but he is confident he is doing so. How many of us will say that in private, much less publicly? Paul relied on the Holy Spirit to correct him when he slipped up. He didn't go around viewing himself as a defeated sinner who needed to repent constantly of sins he may have committed.

We would do well to find that balance between self-righteous arrogance and helpless sinner. By placing our confidence in Christ to give us power over sin and to convict us when we do, perhaps we can.
