Weeping, not gloating
Daniel was disturbed by the vision of what would happen to the king. Despite political differences, despite being enslaved, despite the kings stubborn refusal to stop worshipping false gods, despite the king naming Daniel after one of these false Gods, Daniel was moved and distressed by what would happen to the king. "I wish this would happen to your enemies and not to you." When was the last time you were upset by what would happen to the unrepentant people in your life? It is too easy to find satisfaction in them "getting what they deserve." Think of a godless person in your life; especially one who is in a position of power over you. How would you feel if you found out something terrible was about to happen to them because of their choice not to follow God? Unless you can kill the glee within you at the bad news coming their way, unless you can murder the desire to say "I told you so," you are not serving God, as Daniel did, but only serving your malicious self. When God's judgment comes, God's prophets must be found weeping, not gloating.
