the good samaritan in modern america
I went to life church and I heard very life changing message from Christine Caine. she said that we are to busy to stop and take notice. In the passage i understand that it should be primary nature to stop for the Levite on the side of my life road. Most time we think it is someone else’s job. but it is our own, We just chose to do otherwise. How many of us can honestly say that we have never passed by someone on the highways, byways down in the trenches of life? Christine Caine says that an emotional reaction is not true compassion and that is true compassion that leads us to take action. When a Samaritan stops to help someone whose regional group or religious affiliation who has shunned his own, It is one of those stop and realize moments. Where we should be having revelations that it is when we pass by those people in the dark places of life that we have fail in our mission-ism. The purpose of light is to illuminate the dark places, When we pass by our Levites and do not share the light of the world with them we lose our blessing and their salvation is delayed and may have even been lost completely. We may ask our self how can i do this with my schedule, with my own life problems? Have you have thought that maybe God put that Levite on the side of your road because of the life problem your in? So that you could help each other heal. Give a sandwich to that beggar on the street, that might be his last meal. Take time to listen or help when some asks if they can talk to you. Just lending an ear can makes a big difference in someone’s life just to know that someone is willing to listen that some cares enough to take notice and apply action. It is amazing how we know we should be doing things and yet wonder why we haven’t received our blessing when we don’t.
