Eyes to See
This amazing story illustrates how there is a busy spiritual world happening around us, but God has not given us eyes to consistently see it. The text suggests that God does give some sight to see it. Elisha could some how "see" God's protection and provision and the text does not even say he went outside to look! It suggests "seeing" things in the spiritual realm may be very different than seeing things with our vision. Elisha's prayed that God would give Gehazi, his servant, eyes to see, and oh my there was much to see.
As I read scripture and walk with my Lord, I often think there is so much more happening around me. I think that God is always communicating and revealing things to me, only I am not tuned into to His signal enough to hear and see what is going on. I find that my devotions are so critical to tune my tuner, as it were, to pick up God's broadcasts. I pray that I can lock on to his signal, and by His grace I will hear and see what He chooses to reveal to me.
