The Sins of the Fathers
A mother (assumed) is told to go back to the city - and when she does, her son will die. What kind of torture would that be? She's already been told that she would never be buried when she dies... But to be the trigger that kills her son? That's tragedy. Never mess with God - never get between God and His people.
That this kid alone would be the only person of the family to be buried - and that's because "something good was found toward God in him." - I would have rather seen him grow and turn Israel back to God than to have him serve as an emblem in death!
...but then again, God knows the future - who knows, later in life, this kid would turn out to be worse than his father. Trusting in God is always the safest bet, because we sure are short-sighted.
