1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;

2 so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her.”
Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

As I was reading this The Holy Spirit revealed to me that Sarai did not think enough of God to think that God and God alone could impregnate her. She took matters into her own hands. God was not enough in this situation. To be totally honest, I feel that way- a lot! I sometimes feel I have to help God out by doing something that does not require faith but stupidity. I will take it from here, God. You have done enough to just get it started but I will make sure it gets finished. Stupid. God will not only initiate it He will complete it and get the results for His, not mine, Glory.

To top it off Abraham agreed to it all. Just like Adam agreed to take part in the eating of the forbidden fruit because Eve offered, Abraham agreed to this plan of "helping God along". I want to just say to the men reading this, if God has given you a command, plan or whatever do it. Obey. No wavering. No not wanting to ruffle any feathers. Just obey Him fully. It will be in our best interests and in the interests of those we love. Stop agreeing with everything. Stop going along for the sake of going along. Do what He says. Amen.
