The Word encourages us, as believers to be united. "Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News." Philippians 1:27
How sad that much time and effort is lost in some churches by fighting against one another instead of uniting against the real enemy/opposition. We must be the courageous church to resist fighting among ourselves and serve Christ with purpose.

Philippians 2:1 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. 3 Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.4 Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

I am so guilty of wanting to impress others, of needing to feel my opinion is so wonderful - I become selfish and the results are disastrous - no glory for my Lord.
Selfish ambition and vain conceit brings disharmony among believers. God calls us to love one another with unselfish motives. Joy is immense when we give of ourselves and all God has blessed us with to others without expecting anything in return. I am still learning this truth.
Dear Friend, may God deliver us from ourselves. Fill us Holy Spirit, so the good gifts we give to others comes from You alone, Our God and Savior. Amen
