When will God show up in my life?
This is such a great illustration of God showing up in our lives. First, you've got Abraham relaxing in the heat of the day. He's taking a break. Then, when he realizes he has visitors, he welcomes them with humility and honor. He entertains them generously, at expense to himself. He refreshes them. And then it gets really powerful, because God starts talking about what he is doing and Abraham responds in humility. Abraham doesn't talk to God about his problems. He talks with God about God's problems. And he intercedes regarding those problems. I wonder if Abraham believed that if God spared Sodom and Gomorrah, it wouldn't result in the evil continuing to flourish, but in God bringing righteousness to the cities? I want to learn to talk with God about his problems, not mine.
