Cultivation
What does it mean to cultivate our spiritual gifts? Cultivation is a growth process. One in which we learn how to use our gifts. Some believe possessing a gift is a sign of spiritual maturity, and consider those as more spiritual or closer to God than others. But Paul indicates here that just because one possesses or has discovered their gift doesn't mean they have reached a level of maturity. The Corinthian church's biggest problem was using their giftedness in all the wrong ways. We must develop and learn how to use those gifts properly to attain maturity.
