Religion Lies
Religion makes us think we are better than everyone else. The people who gave Jesus the most trouble are the ones at the top of the religious heap. The main traits of being superior, judgemental and unloving are what the world sees from most Christians. Religion always compares itself to others. Religion creates a list of sins to keep score. You can tell you make God in your own image when it turns out that He hates all those you do. Jesus awards humility and brokeness. I am more arrogant or more humble? The longer sometimes we walk in Christ there is a tendacy to report sin. We become the Sin Police. Religion seeks to condemn where Jesus seeks to restore. When in relationship with Jesus you are not defined by what you do but by the Cross. If I need to confront something then I will confront in prayer. Religion trains us to find the sin in others and not ourselves. Religion causes us to accuse instead of self-reflection. My first response should be to look at myself and not others.
