I love the picture here of us as trees with roots that grow into the stream that is God. It takes time for firm roots to grow. It takes time for us to grow roots with our faith. We must spend consistent time pleading with our King in prayer and studying His word to discover more of His character. But look at the promises. A man who trusts in the Lord "does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit." That's an amazing promise and an amazing text.
