Topsy-Turvy
Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open. James 1:6-8
Leaders, (men you’re a leader by default) must be able to make decisions. We do not have the luxury to be indecisive. There is nothing more frustrating than a man who is weak-minded.
When something must be done average men look at their calendars, excellent men look at their watches.
Do not just be “present” be engaged, energized, and excited about life enough to make clear, intelligent, and confident decisions. This one ability will make you a magnet to followers.
7 Decisions:
1. Decide your daily routine - habits create a rhythm of excellence. Your daily decisions determine your destiny. Greatness is achieved on the secret battlefield of the routine.
2. Decide to hand off tasks that can be done by others - This will free you up to work toward other goals. You only have a limited amount of time – decide to hand off the minutia to others.
3. Decide who you can’t afford to have in your life - You must be willing to separate yourself from the leeches (time suckers) who don’t have anything important in life so their value is hanging out with you.
4. Decide who you must have in your life – There are relationships that I must have, maybe only for a season, but it is for a reason. I have had the opportunity to be in relation with some very high profile personalities – yet, I have learned that their greatest contribution to me is not knowing them personally but receiving from their gift. I can do that through reading, listening, or monitoring their work.
5. Decide what you will not compromise - This will help protect you. Once you’ve decided a matter it is over. I have decided to be faithful. I have decided to be a man of God. I have decided to be married to my wife as long as I live. I’ve decided to be a friend. I have decided to live a healthy, strong, and conditioned life.
6. Decide not to take offenses – The moment you make this decision you disempower your Nemesis. If you can’t be offended – game over!
7. Decide where you will spend eternity – Can you imagine living life without making this decision? Can you imagine not knowing your destiny? Make a decision as a man, unwavering, boldly declaring, “I will go into eternity knowing I have the victory that overcomes the world – even my faith!”
