These versus are Jesus' definition of what love is. True love. But reading through these versus and looking at the world I wonder what love means to the majority of people? Does their definition of love mean the same thing? When they tell someone they love them are they patient with them? Or are they rude to them? Do they always persevere? Or are they proud? Look at the divorce rate in America right now! That should say something about the kind of love here. If everyone loved like these versus said, we would have more couples stay together, more couples try to work problems out, and even non-romantic relationships would be better. The whole country would be such a better place to be. What about us as believers? Do we love people like we should? Are we self-seeking? Or do we always hope? The last verse states, "Love never fails." If we loved everyone like these versus said, what would we not fail at?
