The highest calling... to serve others... this is not an easy thing. See I've done this, and had joy, but I've also done this and struggled with it. I've struggled with people that are unappreciative. People that take this act of kindness and take advantage of it. I honestly struggle with this, so much so, that I look at those in need and let past experiences effect me or rather infect me with a negative attitude towards helping those in the future.

Well, now that I've confessed how rotten a person I am... :-) Jesus said, "whatever you do, do as unto me!" So it is not really them that I'm doing this for, it is for Christ Himself, amazing! He cares about the weak and the helpless and the hurting. He cares so much He asks us to do it on His behalf, He says, "if you are 'like me', then show it!"
