Wandering off
Psalm 119:65 You have done many good things for me, Lord ,
just as you promised. 66 I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
67 I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
This describes me. The wandering off part, and how loving God has been to discipline me so I stay in His word. "Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love." Here we have the most loving God, who created us, gave His only Son Jesus Christ to save us, and provides us the Holy Spirit to live free from sin and we still wander off. The pull of myself is so great, my flesh wars against God but the more I submit to God, the more I read and write His word on my heart, mind and soul, the wandering off does not happen very often. I must be diligent - for there are many - seemingly lovely -'dead-end' roads where I can wander off the path God has chosen for me.
Dear Friend, if you struggle in this way too, I pray we remain constant in reading and applying God's word. Dear l Lord, God - write Your word on our hearts - so we may follow you all the days of our lives.
