1) Love isn’t just a feeling. It is a choice.
2) It doesn’t just give. It gives up.
3) It is reliant on the other person. Even if they hurt you, you still love.
4) It isn’t just a reciprocal feeling. Even if the other person doesn’t respond you still love.
Look at John 13:5-11. He, as a rabbi, washed a bunch of dirty former fishermen and tax collectors(at the bottom of the social ladder, he was at close to the top as a rabbi) feet. Feet that has been in the sewer (also known as the streets, the dumped their waste in the street). This is “agape” love. Unconditional love. He even washed Judas’ feet. He made a choice to do it.
