Legacy Living
David demonstrates Legacy living. David's son Solomon is stepping into a leadership role. There is a changing of the guard. Solomon is going to finish the task that David started in building the house of the Lord. David has two choices, he can either hinder or help the call of God on the next generation.
The only limitations on the next generation is lack of experience and resources. David demonstrates that it is the role of the older to resource the younger. He says in verse 2, "So I have provided for the house of my God, so far as I was able." In verse 3 David goes over the top in fueling the mission, "Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God."
The greatest thing my generation can do is to fuel the next generation in reaching the world for Jesus. David closes with a powerful question, "Who then will offer willingly, consecrating himself today to the Lord?"
