What is the collective reason for being a church? And to what degree is one church more effective than another?

Our reason for being a gathered faith community is to worship Jesus, bring others to him, and leave as a changed person. The degree to which one church is more effective than another doesn't simply rest on numerical growth....It's in changed lives.

Am I more passionate about bringing the broken to Jesus?
The four men saw another man in need and they responded by carrying him to Jesus.
Am I able to work with other people to complete the mission of Jesus?
It took four men to carry one, not one or two men...FOUR. We need others to complete the mission.
Am I willing to do whatever it takes (within biblical boundaries) to get people to Jesus?
The four men ignored the boundaries and obstacles because the mission was to get this man to Jesus.
Am I leaving the presence of Jesus in awe or in arrogance?
Everyone saw the miracle Jesus performed. Some left in amazement and others left arrogant.
