Trust Him!
"Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in Him." Psalm 32:10
This is one of those verses that just causes me to stop dead in my tracks and ponder its significance in my life. I say to myself first, I want to be surrounded by the Lord's unfailing love! I certainly do not want woes surrounding me. Been there! Done that! Don't like that! I am sure you feel the same.
We know that God is a God of love. We know that in His very essence He is love. When He created us in His image we were endowed with that same incredible love. That love was broken when mankind sinned against God and broke the love relationship. We see that love restored in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We now can live in that love because of the work of redemption that Jesus won for us. God's Holy Spirit has recreated us (born again) and continues to create us anew daily through His work in our lives.
Knowing all that, the question is: Do we really believe it? Do we really trust that this is as true as the air we breathe? In Proverbs 3, Solomon tells us to, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."
We need to trust Him with everything we have and with everything we are! We need to walk by faith and not by sight. As we do that God promises to surround us with His unfailing love. We need to find peace and security in the fact that God's love doesn't fluctuate. His love is unfailing.
Peace!
