The Simplest Contemplation
This verse leaps out in its simplicity and profound truth. God can and should be trusted at all times, in all situations, circumstances and occasions. Whatever is going on in my life and yours. We can trust in Him. We should trust in Him. Only in trusting Him fully will we discover the fullness of the life he has for us.
He welcomes us to pour out our hearts to him. The art of being a good listener is one I am trying to learn and am in the very early stages of. I find it easier to talk than listen. However God is the master of both. When he speaks, he speaks with power, authority, passion and truth. But is also an amazing listener. He hears the words, the tone, the things not said as well as the things said and above all he hears the heart. Pour out your heart to him. Let it all flood out. The good and bad, the praise and the questions. He is big enough to take it.
For God is our refuge. In him we can take shelter, we can rest, we can recover and be strengthened. In him we find our home, the place we were meant to be. Not as a recluse from the world we live in. But as a refuge from the struggles of life. He fulfils us, renews us, restores and welcomes. As a song I love says "fill us up and send us out!"
