Do Not Let Your Heart be Troubled
Knowing His arrest was imminent and that their whole world was about to come crashing down, Jesus told His disciples to not let their hearts be troubled, but to trust in God. They didn't do so well at this, at least for a while until Jesus was resurrected and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. Yet, Jesus did put this idea out there for them before the turmoil happened. He also promised the Counselor, without whom they really were incapable of living as Jesus taught, of not letting their heart be troubled.
In the face of adversity, turmoil or disappointment, I can choose to not let my heart be troubled. There is an alternative - trusting in God. Do I make that choice, or am I like the disciples running in fear and denying Jesus?
