GOD IS OUR VINDICATOR
Pastor Kris Belfils

God is our vindicator and advocate. He sees everything and rewards those that need rewarding and corrects those that need correcting. He even punishes those that need to be punished. What does the word "vindicate" really mean and how does it apply to our lives?

Dictionary.com states for Vindicate:
1. To clear of accusation, blame, suspicion, or doubt with supporting arguments or proof: "Our society permits people to sue for libel so that they may vindicate their reputations" (Irving R. Kaufman).
2. To provide justification or support for: vindicate one's claim.
3. To justify or prove the worth of, especially in light of later developments.
4. To defend, maintain, or insist on the recognition of (one's rights, for example).

Also WordNet Dictionary adds: "Show to be right by providing justification or prove"

I stand amazed at God's loving mercy and grace. If you've been a Christian for very long, you might be so used to that statement that it doesn't mean much to you. Let me show you in more detail how much God loves you and to what extent He is willing to go to show you He loves you.

Taking a look at the book of Job, we find that Job was a godly man and very faithful to the Lord. The enemy of His soul wanted to defeat Him. God allowed Satan to do many hard things to Job and yet Job still said, "Thou He slay me, yet I will praise Him." Job loved God even more than what he had accumulated in possessions or family members. God knew that Job would remain true to Him. After all, God birthed Job. He knit Job in his mother's womb (Psalm 139:13).

Job was restored and God blessed him even more than what he had before. Job 42:10 states, "And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Through all the suffering Job endured and still knew that God was a good God and still loved Him. Verse twelve of Job 42 states, "Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning..." All this came after Job prayed for his "friends" because they did not speak what was right about God and Job always did. Job was vindicated in front of his friends. He was restored, but more than being restored, he was brought to a higher level spiritually and emotionally than he was before he went through the entire process.

Do you need to be vindicated? Whatever you have gone through know this; God will restore you and vindicate you as you lay yourself at God's feet in total abandonment to His will.

Blessings,
