The Lord responds to Jehoshaphat. He says He will fight the fight for him. This makes sense - Jehoshaphat is leading God's people in following God's plan for them.

What about me - am I in the right position for the Lord to fight my fight? Will He fight my fight, or do I need to be positioned to fight His fight, and then let Him fight it? Are the things I’m striving and fighting for ones that matter to God? Am I working on God’s plan, or my own?

If it’s my own, not aligned with God’s plan, why would I expect the God who created everything that exists to cater to my whims and desires or to address my selfish issues?

If however, I am where God wants me to be, doing what He has given me to do, and trouble strikes, then I can also reasonably expect that I can move in partnership with God. As I set my eyes on Him in face of trouble, then He will give the battle plan and I will see Him work miracles.

Lord, may my plans and desires truly be set aside in favour of your greater plans.
